This highly readable book deals with the complex issue of the legalization of euthanasia with covering a wide range of topics that are essential for mapping and understanding this intensively debated question. On a more general level the book could be regarded as an up to date argument in favor of legalizing those forms of voluntary euthanasia that are prohibited. However, reading the book is much more rewarding than just having met again a book length speculative argumentation, because the length of details, the clarification of concepts, the elements of the wider social debate, and the coherence of thought are elegantly intertwined.
